Planet Conservative: Sticks and Stones

Many of us in school were subject to some bullying, negative initiation, or hazing. It has been happening in American schools for years. It helps to make us stronger and prepare us for an adulthood of possible negative treatment. As the saying goes, “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”, however, shouldn’t the name calling stop in high school? Apparently name calling is also a tool of some liberal progressives and Democrats when they hear something they don’t agree with….which is pretty much anything a conservative says. In today’s society the hypocrisy runs deep. If a liberal calls a Conservative a bad name or insults them in some way the common consensus seem to be “oh well”, “deal with it”, or “you are one, aren’t you?”. However when the reverse happens we hear them screaming “Racist”, “Bigot”, or “Homophobe”. In the recent past we have seen in the news and social media conflicts in our county regarding religious freedom, the death of people in a church that lead to hatred of an historic flag, and the unnecessary and unnatural transformation of Olympian Bruce Jenner from a man to a “woman”. The case of religious freedom, the first part of the 1st Amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. Despite the idea of the “separation of church and state”, which does not exist, the Constitution is very clear on religion in the United States. Religious freedom is protected by law. So even if a Christian business feels the need not take part in any way with a gay couple’s “marriage” ceremony, the couple should do the right and responsible thing and just find a business that will help them and not be vengeful. The left and GLT community seems to pride themselves on “love” only when it fits their needs. I’m not saying all the people in the GLT community are bad, it’s just the bad ones shine through and give the rest an unpleasant reputation. On June 17 2015 Dylann Roof killed nine people in a Bible study group in South Carolina. This was a particularly troubled young man. There is a photo of him holding the battle flag of the Virginia Confederate Army. The liberal media didn’t persecute him for illegally obtaining a weapon, taking illegally drugs or being mentally ill, they attacked the battle flag as a symbol of hate and racism despite the fact that many Americans of all colors respect the battle flag. They also attacked those who chose to embrace the flag for its historic and heritage value. As Protest Organizer, David Stone, once said “That flag has a lot of different meanings to a lot of different people. It doesn’t symbolize hate unless you think its hate – and that’s your problem, not mine.” From conception, we are predesigned to be a certain way. Either by genetics, or God’s plan (depending or your spiritual view, or lack thereof) we are meant to be a man or a woman, feminine or masculine. It is only by choice that a person attempts to change their gender. Many of us in school were subject to some bullying, negative initiation, or hazing. Apparently name calling is also a tool of some liberal progressives and Democrats when they hear something they don’t agree with….which is pretty much anything a conservative says. Why an American athletic hero would want to defile the body that God gave him to make a small group of liberals happy is beyond my comprehension. What’s worse is people who praise Bruce Jenner will turn a careless blind eye to our brave wounded warriors of the military, and call Jenner a hero. That is purely pathetic. In my experience, name-calling is a result of a lost argument in a last ditch effort to win using emotions as a tool. I see this constantly in my “debates” with liberals, or “progressives” (as I understand they like to be called now), however, dictionary.com call insults “to treat or speak to insolently or with contemptuous rudeness”. I don’t know anyone who “hates” gays, black people, or immigrants, but if anyone speaks about many homosexuals, some blacks, or some immigrants in a way that might offend their delicate receptivity, they may get very bad names call at them, not matter what color the skin or the race. And just remember, sticks and stones my break your bones, but don’t let the words of a few thin-skinned people hurt you. I’m aware that some people have physical body parts that suggests that they may be bi, or trans-gender, however, an individual cannot successfully change their chemistry to be the opposite sex. Bruce Jenner is a gold medal-winning Olympian who made his country proud in The 1975 Olympic Games in Montreal and the Pan American Games in Mexico City by winning gold medals in the decathlon.
